While undertaking the independent driving test, the examiner will request the student to follow directions from the sat-nav. The examiner will bring an already setup Tomtom Start 52 device. All you will have to do is to take instructions from the device. The make or model of the Satnav device that you’ll use during your practise sessions won’t make a difference one bit. As a leading SatNav company, we supply driving test routes for Android, Garmin, Tomtom and iPhone devices. You can’t utilise your personal Sat-nav during the driving examination.

How it works

In the course of the independent driving test, the examiner will provide the learner all the necessary instructions. If the student gets lost during the journey, they will be required to confirm the instructions from the test examiner. Students can’t use their own satNav devices for independent driving as they give turn by turn instructions. Independent driving will check the skill of the examinee to make independent choices.
