Satnav Driving Test

In your driving test, the examiner will choose a preferred route on the satNav. You’ll be requested to follow the route chosen by the examiner as well as the directions from the Sat nav device. The model and make of the device will not matter, this is because Route-LED's test-routes are compatible with many different devices. You can’t utilise your personal Sat nav device during the Nottingham (Colwick) driving test. For more info, you can get up to date changes to the driving test here.

Practise

We aim to provide purchasers with a great deal of support and help with Route-Led's routes. You’ll speedily get good at the different routes we provided. That said, we of course recommend using someone that is a professional teacher.

Independent Driving Test

The Independent driving test does not test your ability to follow directions. Moreover, an independent driving test does not check your skill in remembering directions. If you query the examiner for the directions, they will confirm them for you. Veering off route will not change your test score in any way. Don’t worry about unclear traffic signs as the examiner will help you should you require it. Please understand that you can’t take your own SatNav with you to take the test. This is due to the fact that your personal Sat-Nav will be setup to give step-by-step directions.
