Satnav Driving Test


Whilst conducting the independent driving test, the examiner will request the student to follow instructions from the SatNav. The examiner will bring a configured Tomtom Start 52 device. All you’ll need to do is to take directions from the device. The model or make of the Sat nav device that you’ll use during your practice sessions won’t matter at all. As a premier SatNav company, we supply test routes for iPhone, Android, Tomtom and Garmin devices.You can’t use your personal sat nav in the driving test.

Practise


We aim to supply customers with a lot of help and support with Route-led's products. You will quickly get good at the different routes provided. However, we of course recommend having someone that is a skilled instructor.

Independent Driving Test


The Independent driving test doesn’t test your skill in following directions. Moreover, an independent driving test doesn’t check your ability to remember instructions. If you ask the examiner for updated instructions, they should confirm them for you. Going off route won’t change your test results in any way. Don’t worry about obscured road signs as the examiner will help you if you need it. You should note that you can’t bring your personal Sat-Nav with you to take the test. This is because your own Sat-nav will be configured to provide detailed instructions.


Loughborough Test Centre Details


The Loughborough test centre is located at Ark Business Centre, Gordon Road, Loughborough Leicestershire LE11 1JP. There should be ramp access for disabled users but it would be best to call to confirm. There are also quite often disabled, male and female toilets for use at the test centre but it's probably better to go before you travel there! It’s occasionally feasible to park at the test centre. If not, it should be easy to park nearby and get there by foot. Practise one-way streets, difficult junctions, roundabouts and busy roads. Using test-routes while practising to drive is always very helpful, as it allows you to practice on routes that you’ll certainly be going on during your examination.

Test Centre Parking: Parking could be possible at the test centre. If it is not, park nearby and head by foot.
Toilets: There are usually male, disabled and female facilities at the test centre but better to use these at home beforehand.
Test Centre Disabled access: You should be able to access the test centre in a wheelchair but call ahead to make sure.
