Sat Nav Driving Test

The examiner will ask the student to take instructions from a setup sat-Nav independently. The SatNav will include the route that the learner needs to track. The model or make of Sat nav device utilised while the examination is in progress won’t really matter mainly because the test-route will be identical. In the situation where the learner driver takes the wrong road, the examiner will let them know and give instructions. However, we highly recommend the Tom Tom Start 52 mainly as it’s the device examiners tend to utilise while examining driving tests.

Practice

Route-led provides customers with a high degree of support and help to use our test routes. You’ll get used to all the different sections of the roads to be travelled during the examination. We would suggest using a knowledgeable driving instructor as well. For extra information on what you can do to practise for your driving test please go to Driving Test Practice

Independent Driving Test

When you veer off the independent driving route, it will not have any effect on your examination results except if you break a traffic regulation, commit a traffic offence or make some other driving mistake. In the case where you make a wrong route choice, the test examiner will assist you return to the correct route. Where you have poor or obscure traffic signs, the examiner will instruct the examinee until they get to the following clear traffic sign. The learner doesn’t need to have a detailed knowledge of the town. You can’t use your personal Sat nav device for independent driving, mainly because it gives the learner very detailed prompts. The independent driving part will test if you are able to effect safe independent choices.
